Getting in contact with ex foster parents- would you?

They're both in their 60s now. I stayed with them for three and a half years until I was 14. Would you want to be contacted? I wasn't exactly the nicest kid/teen in the world but I'd like to say thanks and I've also got some questions. It was nearly two decades ago. They were amazing and really would be the only ones I'd want to contact.

A family member of mine fostered for a long time, and she loves hearing from those who had been placed with her.

I would absolutely LOVE it!!! It would make my year!!!!! Go for it.

I will be delighted to hear from anyone I fostered when they grow up.

You just wonder so much about what became of them, they mean such a great deal to us for a period of time and suddenly they are gone and generally we don't get to know what happens to them. It is so sad, as a foster carer it is the hardest thing, and I really encourage you to reach out to your old carers.

Don't worry about being a stroppy teen at the time, they will have seen past that.

Def do it, even if you were a pain! I know my parents and i would love to hear from my foster brother and he did ring up once to say hello several years after he left and they were thrilled to hear from him-and he kicked her in the belly when she was pregnant!

I would love to hear from all the children I fostered ,it would be so wonderful

Oh you really should. I had a really "terrible teen", she did and said some really horrible things while she lived with me. She is an adult now and we get on really well, I am grateful that I get to know her as an adult and see how she has changed into a lovely woman. Us foster carers have thick skin so I wouldn't worry about them holding grudges :)

Thanks. I'm going to wait a few days as I really want to, but another part is very nervous about it all, so I think a few days to get used to the idea (as I only discovered fm's Facebook a bit ago) would be better.

Oh do it. I absolutely love it when my foster dc come back.

All my ex FC are still little, but if any of them choose to look me up when they are older and let me know how they are doing, I'll be utterly delighted!

It's great some have children and their own family's now. for some are the only family they have , are in every respect are thier Mum and Dad
not forgetting Gran and Granddad.
