Would this be an ok present to give a foster child?

Am getting a Christmas present for my mums foster child. She is a 9 year old girl and has been through a terrible time.
I was thinking of getting her one of those girly secret password diaries (as well as a book and a onesie) but had a thought that maybe it could be seen as inappropriate being a secret thing?
What do you think?

I personally think its a great idea. Loads of kids have them although I would takk it through with your mum.

I think a diary is a lovely idea especially for a cared for child but honestly think that if you were 100% sure that this present would be appropriate you wouldn't need to ask the question. Maybe a lovely girly diary would be great instead of a "secret" one.
