As you don't celebrate Xmas what about a chat with her about her favourite traditions, and get her involved planning an preparing? Presents for a 16 year old- make up? iTunes voucher? Trendy clothes?

A christmas stocking filled with small presents ie lipstick, something for her hair? sweets or chocolate, smelly soap, that kind of thing. For a bigger present I would ask her what she would like.

Would you consider putting up a small tree somewhere in the house?

It must be hard for you to do this. Good for you. Smile

At 16 I'd imagine she'll love telling you what to do! Or on the other hand she might think Christmas is so uncool....

Make up is always a winner at that age, most girls love bath things from Lush if you have that shop near you, and maybe jewellery as something more long lasting that will remind her of you??

sorry by not celebrating i just mean it isn't part of my religion, however, i do cards, and gifts for kids and my neice does a turkey sort of meal with lots of indian food so a hot buffet,, it is just we don't do it all official and i don't know anything about the real traditions,, if i ask her she is a bit whatever so i'll see how it goes.. thanks for the present ideas though..
