Well SW from the Agency cae out last night and she was lovely!

My lovely wee boy who has been so well for so long now decided that yesterday was a good day to spike a major temperature!!
She wasn't put off however and prep group starts on Saturday.........

I will be going on my own as hubby needs to finish work he's been doing for my mum ( he house is in chaos) and we didn't know the group would be so soon. If I go now we can get our application in and really get started and hubby will go to the next group which isn't until February. I will go to that too, cos he doesn't want to go on his own.

I am so excited...... xx

Hi, Hoping for 0-4 for now but hoping they'll approve us for 0-18 so we don't need to keep going back to have the age-range changed.

It's important for us that Luuk keeps his place as the older of the 2. By the time we are approved ( assuming that we get approved that is) Luuk will be 6yrs old.

We are also prepared to care for a child with a disability too so that helps to open it up a bit, although the woman was very honest and said we may need to wait a wee while before we get a placement but that it would happen.

However once approved I'll just get stuck in and do as much training as I can before we get a placement.

I already have my SVQ 3 so that's great for starters. We're going with Barnardos and it seems they have absolutely loads of training you can access once approved. I knew they had a very good reputation in relation to training and suport but didn't realise it would be quite so good ( well as good as it sounds)Won't know for sure until we are actually using the support......

Thanks for the good wishes will keep you all posted how we get on.

Good luck.. sounds positive... we too said at first 0-18 but changed our minds during the approval process... we are approved for 2 children 0-6. We did this because we thought younger children would fit in with the 'wider' family better, and that if we wanted to increase the age range at a later date, it was just an 'internal' thing and wouldn't have to go back to panel.. also, thought it would "break us in gently" !!!

Good luck Grin
