mother and baby fostering?

Just about to send off my app form - and wonder whether or not i should include mother and baby fostering in my box of - who i would like to foster.
I have already noted down short and long term, and also respite..........not sure about the mother and baby part though - just wondering if anyone else has experiences in this field.
I already have 3 kids of my own and am wondering if an adult and her newborn would prove too many people.......?

I seem to have so many questions.

I don't have any experience of this whatsoever, so this will act as a bump if nothing else.
Wouldn't Mother and Baby fostering be most likely to be a young teenager (I am thinking about 16 but that might be very naive of me)
So would be more of a young adult rather than a 'full grown' one.

I am thinking of doing this. I too am a newbie. When I spoke on the phone to the lady who deals with it all, she explained it to me a bit more.

Things like, you can't ever leave her alone with her baby, apart from when they are both in bed or whatever. If you go out anywhere, you have to take Mum and baby with you everywhere.

So if you pop to a shop, you all have to go. If she wants to take her baby for a walk, you all have to gedo.

Sorry, can't help any more than that as I am not a foster carer yet.

I had a chat with my youngest son and he wasnt overly keen on the idea. And as this is going to be new to all of us, i decided that i would not do or agree to anything that any of my own children weren't comfortable with. I will poss bring it up at another time, or maybe ask the sw more about it.
Now im left wondering about just how little/much you would be able to do without needing to have the mother and child accompanying..............washing and drying your hair? (mine is v long and takes ages!)........going for a haircut? working in the garden?.......the list could actually become quite long.
