You will be great (its deafworm here if you remember me) the waiting is frustrating isn't it.
I can remember thinking I just wish he would go for a month or so before DH went in.
You will be on that parade square before you know it proud of him but proud of yourself too for proving to yourself you can do it.

Good Luck

how are you getting on up there?

how often was he able to come home? did you go down to visit?

matumble · 02/01/2010 20:36

We are getting on well, its cold and white at the moment. Just putting youngest to bed and killing some time.

He only got home once BUT that was because we lived in Cumbria at the time and the journey was horrible. In theory he could have come home a few times. For the same reason we only went down for his grad parade.

has he got his list sorted?

OracleInaCoracle · 02/01/2010 20:40

going through it at the mo. do the nametapes have to be ones with his name on or these type?

i have a week booked off in ds's half term so think we will go down for a few days then and dh will try to visit a few times. db joins the same day which will be good for both of them.

matumble · 02/01/2010 20:50

It was blank ones when he went in but that was 18 months ago now so it may have changed, he had to be able to use his letter template thingy (cant think of the right word and I'm typing in the dark!) to write his name and last 3 numbers onto blank ones.

Sounds like you have it pretty sussed, its not that long really, looking back it seems like no time at all.

OracleInaCoracle · 02/01/2010 20:53

thanks, 9 weeks isnt long at all, its the 18 weeks trade training that im dreading. its at MOD Southwick Park near portsmouth so will be even further away!

sorry took a while to get a reply out of dh on nights last night. he says

'So long as he has them, there not that picky. Anything will do. So long as they are can be written on with a pen that won't come out in the wash. if memory serves wh smiths does a set that includes sew in tapes and a pen. That should be fine. also suggest that they can get iron in ones and that they can be ironed in, just sew them down aswell.'
