One of the worst things about DH being deployed, apart from the pre-departure grumpiness is

the endless sewing on of badges onto his desert uniform. Does anyone else do this or am the only one to end up with bleeding fingers and a worry that I've sewed them on upside down?

ps. I know it's not really the worst thing but I'm sticking my head in the sand emotionally at the moment

Get him to do it himself!! I work for a soldier and they sew on their own badges.

SmallShips · 30/12/2009 18:47

Take them to the tailors or get him to do it himself!

DH won't even let me iron his kit never mind sew anything on it. He does it all himself as he says if it ain't right then he's the only one to blame.

Rocinante · 01/01/2010 12:22

The badges I'll do because I couldn't stand all the swearing if DH were to try and do it.

But I'm not allowed to iron his stuff - last time I did some as what I thought was a nice gesture I got told in no uncertain terms not to do it again, something about tramlines.

I don't touch DH's kit - he's the one who'll get a bollocking if it's wrong so it wouldn't be right (good enough excuse for me not to iron )
, I hate the last bit before they go, it rips me up.

slummymummy36 · 02/01/2010 21:02

I only go as far as the ironing and thought I was being good doing that!! Sod the sewing!! LOL
