Wow, I can't believe it but after years of toying with idea and trying to be sensible, DH and I have decided and he has put his notice in to leave the RN!!! He has been in 12 years so its a good point as he will still get pension and some gratuity too. It just feels scary!!! I am chuffed and relieved but am nervous too about what the future holds.
Its all he has known for so long. I want to do everything I can to be supportive.
Does anyone else have any experiences of leaving- good or bad?

He's brave...good luck. Dh has been in for 30 years and retirement is rapidly approaching in 4 years time, so we are beginning to look around at what he can do age 53 when he leaves (unless they give him an extension of course).

Make sure he gets on all the resettlement courses going as these are quite good, or so I'm told.
