What's your welfare service like?

I was chatting to someone with a diff regiment on our patch and their regimental welfare support seem to do a hell of a load of stuff for the families etc - whereas our only visit if nescessary and only then for a cuppa - also their soldiers usually have a huge fanfare when they come back whereas ours skulk through the back door.

So what support do you have?

Ours was pretty useless at our last posting. They arranged a summer park trip for families and a famiy bbq but apart from that, did as little as possible. They were mainly focussed though on issues about deployed soldiers and their families so it was very hectic for them from that respect.
If they had to come round, they'd talk the talk, walk the walk, then do nothing to solve it! Promises about sorting quarter stuff out rarely came through so gave up in the end.
