McDreamy · 27/04/2009 09:51

A chance of running water?

madwomanintheattic · 27/04/2009 11:18

oh, i've got running water.

through the ceiling

McDreamy · 27/04/2009 11:26

lol - lucky you No really that is awful! We don't have cold water in the morning or the evening as the pump which pumps the water up the hill to all our houses can't keep up with demand at peak time So before we go to bed we have to fill the kettle, water jugs etc!

Rant, rant, rant ...

My DH had a lecture on this recently... that £50m was money the army saved up from efficiency savings to spend on SFA, the government then took it from them and gave it back as a £50m gift for all 3 forces. I don't mind sharing i'm just cross that they have made it sound like new money (so was the general who made the savings!)

rant, rant, rant ...

Dont hold your breath, our quarters where supposed to be don in 2007, we were second phase ans suppose to move out of our quarter into a nice new refurbished in April 2007, October 2007, May 2008, August 2008,

We moved January 2009, after they told us it would be the end of January, then two days before Christmas shut down told us it would be the 4th Jan!, We actually moved 9th Jan.

£50m will go precisely nowhere with the cost of labour and the time it would take to even install showers! It's a drop in the ocean and the money should have been spent many years ago on maintenance of quarters when the MOD was sloshing about in the stuff during the cold war. Besides I think that the bulk of this cash will go on SLAM anyway. We will have to continue to make do with what we get.
