Hello, I'm loren and I'm 21
My boyfriend of nearly 3 years has recently decided that he wants to join the army and go into the engineers (I think)
I totally support his decision and will stand by him 100% as I know how much he hates his current job.

He wants us to get married and have a baby, but I dont know how I feel about that. Theres no doubt that I love him with all my heart but I dont know how I feel about raising a baby when he will be away so much.

Im not quite sure what I want you all to say back to me, I suppose I just want some advice or suggestions on what i should do...

Thanks in advance

Loz xx

Hi, my dh was in the army, until quite recently (he did 24 years).
I think raising Kids, even if dh's are away is not generally and necessarily that difficult....however, you are only young and maybe already planning a Baby is more the issue. Get married and have a few years as a married couple first and then there is always plenty of time to have Babies...
Even if you have been together for a few years, getting/being married can change teh relatinship a bit. Also, have you been living together? If not, you might even just want to try that out first....you find out so much about eachother if you live together, the things that will bug you the things you will love
Best of luck!

Hi FairLady
Yes we have been living together for 6 months, So far so good!
The only problems we've had so far is him going to the pub and coming back absoloutely slaughtered, to the point of wetting himself!!

But we had a good chat and hes decided to stop hanging around with the wrong crowd and get himself fit and healthy for the army. Hes stopped drinking completely, dont get me wrong, hes never been an alchoholic, more like a binge drinker. Hes got his heart set on a little family!

well...there is plenty of time for family though....lol...anyway, how do you feel about having a Baby....
I would just think, get settled into army life first, get used to all that and than start a family, iykwim
