So it's 10 to 2 in the morning, and I've just finished clearing up sick.....

....because poor DS1 threw up all over my bed. All in the washing machine now because I couldn't face waiting until tomorrow when a) the spag bol sick would have stained my white sheets and b) I'd have DS2 'helping'!

Haven't heard from DH for a week (under the water), or seen him for a month with the exception of a couple of hours when we passed each other on the motorway.

Really hoping we're not all about to come down with a V&D bug (DS2 did have a dodgy nappy today, and I've felt queasy, but put it down to tiredness) because although I've got an ap, she feels sick if DS2 spits his food out!

Great life sometimes isn't it?

Sounds bad. But it will get better.

Fingers crossed not a V&D bug.

Well he spent the whole night throwing up and asking me to change his nappy. Poor love felt terrible about that and kept asking if I was cross with him. Then DS2 woke at 5am. MIL meant to be coming tonight, but not sure if she will when she finds out that DS1 has a bug.

Stock up on the Medised for tonight LL

Poor you, it is so hard on your own, and second the submariner bit, no contact is pants. DP on surface ships so at least I get the odd call each week or so.

Where abouts are you, have you got some friends near by who could give you a hand...

laura032004 · 16/05/2008 08:06

LL - we have the same with DS2. He used to have reflux too, so would just throw up any medicine. Now I give him suppositories when I need to. I can't physically get medicine down his throat single handed, I have to get a friend to come and help.

Eve - lots of friends nearby thank goodness. Two of them are MNetters too!

Look on the bright side Laura, if dh was home, he'd get it too, and then you'd have three of them. I know of nothing worse than a submariner who thinks he has flu and it's just a bloody cold!!!!

How is Plymouth today? Brussels is grey and overcast. Not long until I get back to Cornwall for a week. Roll on August and clotted cream.

VanillaPumpkin · 16/05/2008 09:42

Aw, sympathies from me too. Hope you stay well. I hate dealing with sick. Coping with the poorly child is hard enough without the sheets etc too.
Chin up, you are doing great!

Thanks for all the sympathy DS1 is just lying on the sofa like a limp rag now. He threw up his medised, but has kept down some weak squash, so hopefully the sickness has passed now.

Plymouth is nice today ST. Not hot like it has been for the last fortnight, but definitely pleasant. Whereabouts in Cornwall are you going to? I love a good clotted cream tea

I'm coming back in August to have a look at my house and terrify the tenants (Tamar Valley), but will be staying with mum who is in Tavistock. I will be drooling over my kitchen and then comparing it with the pokey one the MQ has in Brussels; and I will then be winding dh up by manking all the way back here about how I miss Cornwall and want to go back. Give me a week and I'm happy back here as I don't have to work, and the MOD picks up the school fees for day school.

I will be in Waitrose in Saltash and the cash and carry in Launceston, and outside Dukes in Tavi eating bacon sandwiches and drinking vats of cappucino. I will also be getting my M&S fix in Plymouth, and I expect ds will be spending hours and loads of my money in Games Workshop.

This year we may go for a dockyard cruise and look at black jobs and reminisce about the days dh was on them, and be glad that now the highlight of every third week isn't composing a 20 word grumblegram.
