Washing machine broke , not fixable so had to buy another.
I broke the babies cot this morning so that has had to be taken down and a new army one ordered.

I have had a pipe detach itself at the join in the cellar..

DH had his Gorilla box smashed on the flight so has had to replace that then his ruck sack straps broke so he had to replace that...

I think i am in for an interesting 6 months....lol

It is so typical that this stuff always seems to happen when they are away! Just when you could do with an extra pair of (adult) hands! A few weeks after DS was born my hubby had to go away (only for a couple of weeks mind) and in that short space of time I had a powercut, my water was switched off due to maintenance work, the cat got stuck on top of the house and I managed to knock my head and give myself slight concussion - amazing! All while trying to get to grips with my new life as a Mummy!

twoplusone · 13/02/2008 20:50

It is sods law isnt it.. in the bigger scheme of things though glad things are happening at home and not where he is iykwim...

twoplusone, i sympathise! Would it make a difference if he was here - LOL, my DH leaves it all to me anyway

I did used to find I could get away with buying stuff we needed (like a dishwasher and dyson) that he said we didn't need. He used to say he was the dishwasher and then I could say but the dishwasher's never here .

You're a strong woman - you're a mum, we can fix most things!!

McDreamylove · 14/02/2008 16:48

Yes still in Cyprus for the moment. Home in the summer.

twoplusone · 15/02/2008 13:03

My dh is an admin vortex I hve sent him an ebluey telling hm he is banned form sorting anything out as off today.. I have been looking through paperwork looking for something, found an envelope addressed to him unopened..opened it up and it is the car insurance.. all well and good apart fro he should have cancelled that policy as have a german insurance now!!! so for the last 5 months I have been paying two car insurances.. one from uk bank the other from the german bank.. so I am now trying to sort it out... bloody men.

LOL see it's better just to deal with things ourselves! Hope you're doing OK twoplusone

scaryteacher · 15/02/2008 15:58

It always used to be 3 things in a row that went wrong the minute my DH went on patrol, so you should be all right now I hope!

Keep on keeping on girl!

VanillaPumpkin · 15/02/2008 16:01

Oh men! I have taken over ALL bills and household admin now after DH paid for broadband we didn't have for 2.5 years in Cyprus. Gah! It is actually much less stressful to do it myself than be worried and have to nag him about it.
