what are your school placement nightmare stories?

A good friend's dh was just posted back to UK (London) with 3 weeks notice and she had a complete nightmare finding school places for her 3 young children in any of the schools she liked (she is a primary teacher). In the end she has a 1 and half hour school trip to get them all to different ones. There muct be more stories like this out there - I would like to try and lobby to do something about it, so I would love to hear your experiences too.

I thought all schools had to have a certain percentage of 'free' places for children from forces/travellers families etc?

I could of course be wrong but I certainly remember last year somebody telling me that as though it was fact.

Anyway - if you're you, really happy for you that DH is back in 6 days!

DH is currently here but is off back to where he was earlier this year for 3 months (I think I might have told you before?).

Hi Luce, yes it is me - I gave up MN while I was doing my German, but it is quite good company in the evenings, so I am back now. Hope you are all well - this last 6 days has gone SO slowly!!!!!!! Only 3 to go!

So pleased for you that DH gets back in only 3 days. Is it 2 weeks he's back for? I guess you're all just gonna chill or have you planned anything special. Obviously him just being home will be special but you know what I mean.

Has HC had the baby yet? What did she have? Hope she's ok and the birth went well?

We went to see Joseph this w/e but DS was throwing up the whole time for sister and mum!!! They've done all the washing though! I imagine DD will be next.
