You know my continuing saga with the invoices and how DH was told if he contested them they would start disciplinary proceedings against him.
Well my friend has just emailed me, they left the base we were at about 2 months ago. She was told that the carpets were new, so she would need to pay to get them cleaned. So she did. Then she found out from an old colleague of her (and my DH) dh that two of the carpets had been replaced. She got her DH to phone up to tell them she wanted her money back as she had paid for them to be cleaned and they ahd kept the money and nbot vcleaned them. Her DH was told the same as mine - pay up or we start disciplinary proceedings!

They have us over a barrel the twats, they know we are all hundreds of miles away and that they can threaten our DH/DPs careers and we will just pay up.

I'm not in your situation saltire so have no suggestions but that's awful! Private landlords wouldn't get away with it, what fuckers.

Mucho sympathy, especialy considering it's hardly an easy job/life for you and your DP's.

They are money grabbers thats all, they threaten and bully people to get money because they decide that something is damaged or broken

Saltire - just a thought but have you tried speaking to SSAFA about this? Have no experience myself but other people have told me they can be v helpful in disputes with DE. Especially as you know at least one other person with similar problems with same DE office.
