DS has absolutely set his heart on being an Army Officer and is working through the application process.
He had his medical yesterday and has been deferred because of his hearing. Apparently one ear is at the very top of the scale and the results for the other ear were good but not as good as the first. So both ears "passed" but there is some concern about why they are different.
He's been advised to see his GP and arrange a further audiogram but that it won't prevent his joining, the Army (Capita, no uniform?) doctor just said he's curious about the difference and will pass him without seeing him again, once he has a letter from the GP.
Does this sound right?
First - I'm not even sure a GP would do this test, presumably he'd have to refer him somewhere, but if the result is the same, what difference will having another test make? Apparently the Doctor could see nothing wrong in the ear and he hasn't asked for any investigation, just another test.
Is there anywhere, other than Mumsnet where he can get advice?
Thank you
