My Dh is off just after christmas. We have 2 children age 2.9yrs and 1.2yrs and this is his first tour since becoming a dad. I want to give him something from the children that he can take with him. Something personal and made / or of them. Any ideas welcome please. I dont want to do a photo book as my plan is to send loads of photos once hes gone.

Just seen these used in a documentary on sky1 about Brize

They were sending them back and forth in their parcels. Probably not exactly what you were looking for but I think its a lovely idea.

I can't believe we've never heard of them. Dh has done 3 6 month deployments in last 3 years so they would have been ideal especially as our youngest was 11 months when he went away last time and starting to talk lots.

I went to the card shop that has a purple sign - Hallmark! (Brain fade) and they were selling books that you can record yourself reading for £7.50. We got a couple of those and Little Miss F_W loves it.
