How to defluff a new Army beret

DS is in the TA and has recently got his kit. His Sgt told him he needs to shave his beret to get rid of the fluff. he's done this but it's still fluffy. He's also used my lint roller but he says it still doesn't look like everyone elses Hmm

Any ideas please?

TIA

According to DH it's just a matter of time!

It true the the fluff will go with time. However you can help it along, wet the beret but NOT the band. Get Ds to put it on his head and shape it to fit wear it until it drys keep shaping it (smoothing the beret). As for shaving it old fashion razors work best.

Thanks both!

Have given ds a few of my disposable razors as he was knackering up his own with all the fluff Hmm

He could make things a whole lot better by replacing the beret with an RAF one! Grin

But yes it'll fall off over time....and slowly become more and more discoloured to the point of wondering whether people can still tell which force you belong to....

[Stares longingly at knackered beret on desk]
