My dh has finally spoken to the hive in Helensburgh and they say they have some 4 bed availability I just wondered if anyone has been in a 4 bed or has any experience of what they are like.

The hive have said the houses are either over 3 floors or two houses that have been made into one big one, having small dc I don't think stairs would be good so I think the converted ones sound better.

I also wondered if anyone knew about the Scottish schooling system or a website that could give me some info about how it works. I have looked JLB primary and it looks fine since they had a top up inspection and some new teachers.

Dh is applying today and I am hoping to move soon summer holidays if possible if not before the Autumn or Winter term but have no idea of how terms work in Scotland and don't want to disrupt dc too much if possible, oh I hate this its so confusing and dh is not being helpful as he still wants to stay put but it is just not feasible. So we will be moving I just wish I knew more or had a dh that would help a bit more he is now sulking.

Thanks for persevering with the reading of this and as usual I am grateful for any help just wish I could see the place first or look at some houses lol I know this is not really possible. Thanks again.

Thanks I am grateful for all the help. Upheaving the dc is the worst part of this pretty closely followed by the unknown.

It will be fine - this is one of the worst parts of our life - the dreaded unknown!! My DD is on her 3rd school (year 3) and it is hard initially - but she's fine now. Make sure you try and stay outwardly positive about the adventures and new friends ahead however blooming hard that isConfused

See if you can get an address or postcode of possible locations and have a look on googlemaps. Depending if it's behind the wire or not you may even get street view so you can have a vague idea of what the houses look like from outside.

Never been posted to Scotland I'm afraid so can't help anymore than that. But I did grow up there - autumn term starts in August from memory.

Good luck!
HTH even a tiny bit!
