Exchange posting, anyone been and done one in Oman?

As the title says really, DH has just had a call from the poster asking if he is interested when he comes back from Afghan Next year.
It's a 3 year post starting spring '13.
Our dd will be 10 when we go, so it's a now or never thing.
We had muted that we would like Waddington on his return, so this a bit of a curve ball so to speak.

Bump, as it's looking more and more likely we are off to live there next spring

Sorry herdingcats, I'm not a forces sweetheart, I do have experience of Oman.
My 10.9 DD was born there.
Fantastic country, great people, cracking weather. Not sure if the labour laws apply to forces people, but they are in the favour of the employee.
I know that there are a couple of MNers in the country at the moment.

Personally, no, but a friend was there a few years ago and LOVED it. I think they even asked to extend. She was really happy with the schooling, it was very sociable, they travelled lots and made great friends. Their house was nice and they had live-in help in the house.

Oman is supposed to be very beautiful with lots to do. My sister is in Abu Dhabi and they go to Oman a lot.
