that by the time DH gets home he will have spent 21 days at home in 188.

Bloody hell he owes me big time!

That's crap!
How long til he gets back?
Book yourself into a lovely spa for a couple of days and leave your DH to have the kids.
Is he RN?

Sidge · 27/07/2010 21:43

He's back in 2.5 weeks Lucie - yes he's RN.

I am searching spa breaks as we type - it's my birthday in September and it's going to be my present from him.

He doesn't know that yet

Good for you.
My DH is in the army and although it's not good them being away for 6 months at a time, I think RN wives have it tougher - the guys are away more frequently aren't they?

Sidge · 27/07/2010 21:59

It seems to depend on what ship they're on. DH has been away most of this year and he was away a lot last year, but then his next job is shore based so he'll be home most of the time.

When he is away they don't get R&R half way through like most of the Army seem to, but then aren't usually away back to back like the Army.

Pros and cons with both services I think!

Yes - I agree. Hard for all forces wives really. Enjoy your birthday treat and try to get some time for just the two of you as well .

I know it's expensive but I think you deserve it! Army wife here!
