It might make the mixture a little wetter so you might need to add a little more flour to compensate...

If it's a straight sponge usually the formula is the same weight of flour, eggs, sugar and fat... so if you weighed the eggs that could give you a pointer that you needed a little more of the other three.

I was going to suggest weighing the eggs, and increasing the other ingredients proportionately as well

I have never ever checked whether my eggs are small, large or medium and all my cakes have turned out beautifully

As said below - Weigh your eggs and then use the same weight of flour, butter and sugar.
