What kind of lunchbox do your teenage boys use?

My ds starts secondary school in September and is in need of a new lunchbox. I don't want to waste my money on something that he'll refuse to use because it's just not cool

Tupperware style box or a small cool bag with ice pack.

simpsons?

DS has a small coolbag, it's black and silver, with a plain tupperware type box inside for his sarnies. I'd avoid anything with pictures etc by that age, unless any of the sports companies (Adidas, Nike etc) make coolboxes.

Mine still use their primary school ones (grey football theme, not at all eye catching). They're 16 and 14, and don't have packed lunch very often.

One did turn his nose up at a primary coloured football one, saying it was for 2 year olds. It's still on top of the kitchen cupboards somewhere.

So I'd stick to dull colours. You can get small adult coolbags without pictures/logos. Now is a good time with all the picnic/camping stuff in the shops.

I think all teenagers just have tupperware boxes or plain bags.

Don't think they need or want themed lunchboxes at this age.

thermos do a range of plain lunch bags - some are here

schroeder · 14/06/2010 18:02

Thanks for all your kind replies

I have gone straight to the source and asked him what he would like (Why didn't I think of that before?)

I've been eyeing up those thermos ones on amazon, but apparently he would like a plain see through plastic box so he can see what he's getting

The Lock and Lock ones are good. Easy to get the lid off and nice and secure.

my eldest goes through at least one a week - they end up smashed to bits in his bag. i just get cheap tupperware now.
