Obviously, I don't want to spend loads of time in the kitchen while on holiday. I'll shop for food once we arrive at our destination, so won't have a larder stocked full of spices, and unusual ingredients.

Would love to hear from you who have got self-catering holiday meal planning sussed so that we can have yummy meals without spending ages preparing.

I tend to pre cook some stuff at home, freeze it and take it in a coolbox and freeze it when we're there. Just things like chilli, spag bol etc.

The rest of the time we have things like Pizza, risotto, burgers etc. Lunch is either a bacon & egg brunch (about the only time I eat fry ups !) or "picky" things like quiche, salads, cheeses, ham, bread etc.

we do tend to eat quite simply on holiday.
normally baked potatoes and tuna, pasta with seafood, tomato and garlic sauce, omelettes and salad, plain roast chicken with veg, and a few junky dinners. Every cottage we've rented has had a BBQ, so we normally do that. We'll also have a few pub lunches, and then just snack on those evenings.

Much depends on where you're going - will you be in the UK?
