What can I use to substitute Lemon Juice?

Need to marinade and I don't have any!

No limes either.

I'l be using honey and ginger with it.

Vinegar--apple cider or white would work.

Just plain Vinegar?

I'm just thinking now that I might be able to get away with it as it's a chinese dish I'm making anyway.

Anything acidic would be OK, so wine vinegar or basalmic vinegar would be fine. I wouldn't use ordinary malt vinegar though, the taste might be too strong.

Yes, the vinegar gives it the acid to marinate--it will burn off like wine when you cook it, honest!

I have balsamic.

Just thinking of using a bit of soy sauce with some waterand cutting out the honey.
