I want to send my SIL some cupcakes or brownies through the post.

She lives in Cardiff and I live in E.Yorks so I don't know anywhere local to have them delivered from.

I have one recommendation but they are very expensive £40 for a box of brownies!

I would appreciate any recommendations - in the Cardiff area or places that deliver nationally.

Thanks very much.

Would biscuits do? These ones are excellent.

Oh they do look yummy! Tempting!

I've sent several boxes of brownies from Gower Cottage. They're really nice, freshly made, and Kate Jenkins who runs it couldn't be more friendly. I had probs getting payment to go through on the website once abd she still posted out to meet the deadline I'd requested. Brilliant.

And lovely moist homemade brownies too!

Try this

yum!
Tried them at a church fete in Wales and they were fab. The card has been on my fridge for 3 years so happy to recommend!

Great minds and all that Oxcat!

oxcat1 · 07/06/2010 19:30

I like 'great' minds, but in my case suspect it is more 'greedy' minds!

They are good though! Even sent some to DH- really just wanted an excuse to have some of my own, having sent them to loads of friends for various reasons.

Ooohhh, those brownies look lovely. I wonder if they post to Ireland so I can send them to my mother. I probably ought to order a box for myself first just to check that they are as delicious as they look.

Gower cottage are the best ever brownies!!!! They are not too expensive either - everyone I have sent them too raves about them!

Blimey that was quick. Are you a regular on MN Kate, or did this just pop up on your web-scanning software?

Could you see your way to sending your brownies to Ireland?

gowercottage · 07/06/2010 20:00

Web scanning software???I wish...its called being told by my lovely customers, am afraid I'm just not that techy! But am good at baking, honest. I can send out to Ireland, it does take longer, I have no idea what they do the other end, you can email me via my contact on the website and can sort out for you

Thanks.

How long do your brownies last? I want them to be there for her birthday which is the 13th so Sunday but I don't want her to miss the parcel so will send them ASAP but don't want them to go off after a day...

I would suggest sending them out on Thursday to arrive on the Friday 11th, I put a best by of just over a week on them, and also on the lovely gift box it says all about how to store, how to eat! i.e lovely warmed in the micro with ice cream! So please be assured, they will be in perfect condition for her, and the only reason they dont last longer is bcos they get eaten! x

LetThereBeRock · 24/06/2010 13:05

I've ordered some which should arrive today. I can't wait. I hope the courier arrives soon.I need my brownie fix.

I shouldn't have clicked on a cakey thread. Now I want brownies and to hell heck with the diet. I'm going to be strong, though, and see if a light philedephia and cucumber sandwich defeats the craving!

BornToFolk · 24/06/2010 13:42

Meg Rivers also do extremely nice mail order cakes. The chocolate cake is the best I've ever had....though I might now need to order some Gower Cottage brownies for comparison sake...
