I need to make DS's birthday cake today for his party tomorrow. It's going to be a square 7in cake with decoration tbc depending on time.
What's best to make bearing in mind he wants jam in it - I've never made madeira cake but it is firmer so might take icing better?
Would like to make it soon so if anyone can reply (and/or post a tried and tested recipe ) I'd be really grateful!
