I cheat

Dolmio all the way here with added mushrooms.

In fact, we are having meatballs and spaghetti tonight!

not sure if you want a recipe for the meatballs, or for the sauce around them, so sorry if tmi!

here's what I do to go with pasta:

for meatballs I soak a slice or two of white bread in a little milk, then mix that with pork mince, seasoning, herbs (chives and/or parsley), and some grated parmesan. Test a little bit by frying it. Then wet hands and roll into balls. Fry them (in batches small enough that they don't just steam!) before adding to the sauce to warm through.

for the sauce I just make a normal tomato pasta sauce: saute a chopped onion (you can omit this if you prefer) and perhaps some celery, add a little white wine, tin toms, garlic, seasoning and herbs. I often add chilli to go with meatballs.

Serve with spaghetti, yum.

Thanks, just the sauce I have made the meatballs.

I have a yearning for an Ikea type sauce.

Haven't tried Ikea sauce, but have meatballs on at moment, with tomato sauce made with fresh toms then frozen, and mushroom sauce seperate, cos dd's don't like cooked mush's, but we do, so will cook mbs in tom sauce, add raw mush's for dd's and cooked for us. Does that make any sense at all? Not sure it does to me any more...maybe next time I just buy Ikeas...

I don't know if they sell it. It's a sort of creamy sauce. hwww.gretchencooks.com/recipes/763_Ikeas_Cream_Sauce_for_Meatballs]

I've found this so am going to give it a go.

Hahaha scrab that style of cooking sounds familiar!

I do exactly the same as Aquavit but make the sauce in the pan I fried the meatballs in which makes all the difference. Think I'll buy pork tomorrow. Yum!

Don't bother with the above link the sauce was vile. I binned it and went with Aquavit's, it was scrummy. Thanks.
