anyone used M&S party food online?

where you order online but collect in store? does it come on its serving plates, or in boxes? What's it like? anything i need to be aware of?

i cant believe how cheap it is, just done a trial basket of:

48 goats cheese frittats
2 plates of crudites
20 pork pies
20 scotch eggs
20 mini quiche
20 cocktail sausages
20 sausage rolls
40 vegi sandwiches
40 meat / mixed sandwiches
48 fruit tartlets
54 (yes 54!!) strawberry cupcakes

for less than £150

whats the catch??

I have used it before(not smuch party food, but catering for large family christmas, etc)

ime, it depends on what oyu have ordered. a lot comes in boxes, but soem onplatters. it should say in the online catalogue (from memory) if serving dish included. I htink sandwiches etc come on plastic platters, like you seeinstore for some of the party stuff (although haven't ever had the sandwiches,so might be wrong)

I hav found it tobeexcellent value, andreasonably decent food. actually no, really good food.

I save up vouchers from using M&S creditcard all year ot use at Christmas so I can just bung stuff in the oven without hassle.

Glad you think it's excellent as well - I assume the sandwiches will be the same quality as the ones you buy in store so hopefully really nice. There's a lot of choice too, and loads for vegetarians.
I just can't get over how cheap it is. If I was catering I'd spend at least this much on the 'main' shop then probably a load of top up shops as well, then all the hassle...I don't actually mind doing it, it's just the fact it all has to be done on the day iyswim!
Everything else (drinks, nibbles, plates, decorations) can be sorted well in advance it's only the food that takes ages on the day.
If it's good I don't think I'll ever do my own catering again!

Not sure on the packaging, but we used them for my gran's 80th, had around 50 people in church hall, food was excellent. Not sure if its relevant for whatever you're doing, but have a look at the cakes - we got a lovely one for my gran, done up like an allotment with a personalised message piped on, very reasonably priced.

not sure about a cake...was actually thinking that if I don't have to do all the shopping and preparation, I could maybe do the cake myself...maybe! Would be for DD's christening. If I do decicde to buy one though, i'll look into it, thank you.

I just used Tescos party food - they cancelled the order without telling us - food for 75 people!! No phone call whatsoever as the bank saw a large sum and put a security stop - please beware if you are using their service for an important function!!! Shame on you Tesco!! Plus despite an apology they hoped I would use the service again!?!

This is a 7 year old thread but what do you mean User? Your bank stopped the payment so Tesco cancelled the order?
