Would it be horrible if put salmon fillets in pea and mint soup and maybe some prawns too?

I want to eat the salmon fillets but cannot stand dry food and have no sauce for the salmon(I do have a pot of cream but wanted to make butter with that) so I was thinking maybe I could pop them in the soup and turn it into salmon, pea and mint soup? Also have some king prawns and some asparagus I could chuck in too for a bit of interest.

Please help me decide if this would be tasty or maybe a bit odd?

Yum.

AndieWalsh · 14/05/2010 17:45

It sounds revolting, sorry

A bit sloppy...?

Could you use a bit of soup and reduce it a bit as a sauce? Maybe a small dollop of cream in it too?

DumpyOldWoman · 14/05/2010 17:46

Mint with prawns and salmon?
I would use the cream and asparagus and maybe the prawns for a sauce and go and buy a packet of Lurpak!

Conclusive so far then......

Hmm.

Hmm.

Hmm.

I think not. It has to do with the mint, I'm afraid. And the peas. And, infact, the soup.

Do the salmon in foil parcels in the oven with plenty of butter to keep it moist. 15/20 minutes or so. Sprinkle with soy sauce to serve. You won't find that dry, I don't think.

I'd cook the salmon and prawns separately and use a wee bit of the soup as a sauce, but on a plate, not together in a bowl.
I'd serve with some new potatoes.

Freeze rest of soup for another time.

Thank you my darlings, I think rather than risk ruining it all we'll have soup to start and then the salmon and the asparagus and I'll drink lots so it isn't dry

Have you no herbs to make a quick white sauce and add herbs such as parsley? Or mushroom? Or watercress? Or even prawn sauce?

purplepeony · 14/05/2010 18:14

Make an aspargus sauce- half a pint of white sauce and tips of cooked asparagus thrown in!

BallpointPen · 14/05/2010 19:11

I'm drinking the wine
