Advice needed from Low-Carbers please- have to go for Chinese tomorrow night!

Hi All

I've been cutting out all pasta, potatoes, bread, noodles and rice for the last 8 days and I feel absolutely great and I've dropped a dress size off my tummy.

Problem is- its my friend's birthday tomorrow and she has booked for us to go to a Chinese/Noodle Bar which is not exactly low-carb friendly i wouldn't have thought!

I know people say 'oh its only one night treat yourself' but to be honest I really don't want to eat the carbs because its only since I stopped i have realised just how bad I was feeling- now I have so much more energy, I'm not bloated, etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could have without drawing attention to myself (we are going in a big group) as 'the one on a diet'?

TIA

You just stick to chicken in sauce, veg etc. Just eat dishes with no noodles or rice and you should be ok.

I wouldnt recommend weighing yourself for a day or two afterwards!!

Can I ask what you eat in a typical day? DP and I want to cut out carbs but without feeling dizzy IYSWIM.

I did Atkins for months a few years ago and lost about 4 stone but cant physically do it anymore!

Thanks mama, i think you are right, will just have the main meal without rice or noodles etc and hope the sauces don't contain too many nasties!

I was really worried at first about cutting out carbs and cooking for DH (30 inch easit ) at same time but its actually been totally fine. A few meals we've had/having this week are:

-Omelette and salad (crusty bread for DH)

  • gammon and cauliflower cheese
  • full english breakfast (chips for DH)
  • chicken stuffed with philadelphia wrapped in parma ham and roasted veg
  • veg curry (as a soup)
  • beef stroganoff with wilted spinach, rice forDH
  • home made burgers with salad and no bun for me
  • fish baked in the oven with steamed veg
  • beef curry with tomato and onion salad for me, rice for him.

Breakfasts I have been having porridge or rice krispies- not low carb but m a cereal girl! I have eggs on a weekend.

Lunches are either veg soups (no potatoes) or salads bumped up with meat, cheese, tuna, eggs, bacon bits.

I really havent felt hungry at all.

Theres a few low carbers on the Big/Slim/whatever weightloss board if you are interested.
