defrosting/cooking sausage casserole (pasta based) - how?

Hi, I have just made the sausage casserole from the recipes section (the one with sausages, tagliatelle etc) - yummy! But I have made enough to freeze some. Dumb question - how would you defrost it? It's pasta and sausages - would you defrost and cook in the oven from frozen say and for how long? Thanks!

Take it out in the morning to defrost and cook at night?
or deforst in MW and then cook.
Not sure you're supposed to defrost whilst cooking, although I know people who cook mince meat from frozen.

I usually work on the basis that you can defrost while cooking as long as you cook it through really really well. Once the food is warmed it must be cooked immediately. So you couldn't warm it to defrost and then cook a few hours later.

I I have a lasagne in the freezer that says "defrost before cooking" I ignore that and put it in the cold oven. I add 10 min for defrosting and another 10 minutes for heating the oven. so far we never had stomach bugs.
