Fajita virgin...talk to me about mexican cooking

DH had a fajita at a friend's house recently and came home saying how delicious it was... apparently it had a sweet chili sauce but none of the meal kits I see in the supermarket mention sweet chili...so I bought Asda's own sweet chili sauce and added it to fried chicken and peppers and onions, but it wasn't as nice, he said.... any tips, recipes, ideas I can try out? Are the Old El Paso Salsa sauces really burny hot? (we dont like stuff tooo spicy)
Tia.

I use the same jars as Lapin, except I put the chikcen/beef, and onions, peppers etc all into one big dish, then seperate bowls of salsa, cream etc

Here's a recipe:

Chicken breast(s) cut into thin strips
Green pepper and onion cut into thin strips
1 teasp real chili powder
1 teasp salt
1/2 teasp ground cumin
1/2 teasp onion powder
1/4 teasp garlic powder
1 dessertspoon/ tablespoon corn starch/corn flour
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons olive oil

(Juice of 2 limes -- keep separate for later use)

Combine all the above except lime juice in a plastic bag and leave for 15 to 30 mins.

Heat some more oil in a frying pan and add all contents of the plastic bag, frying and stirring on high heat until chicken is cooked through and liquid is greatly reduced -- maybe about 5 or 6 mins. Add lime juice and stir.

Serve wrapped in warm tortillas, garnished with a dollop of sour cream, some salsa (Old El Paso medium or mild are not too spicy, imo), some shredded lettuce. (Put everything in the tortilla and wrap it all up)
