Freezing tiny portions of mince

Waedigirl · 29/04/2010 11:43

DD 10m only eats about a spoonful of mince each time. Best wy to freze / reheat?

eg freeze from fresh in mini portions, then fry from frozen. Or can I cook it all, freeze in portions, then microwave from frozen. Quickest way poss is best - without giving anyone the p0ops.....

Thanks

As long as the mince hadn't been frozen before I would cook one big batch however you want to cook it e.g. in a tomato & veg sauce, and then freeze in mini portions. Saves you having to faff about cooking each time. Just defrost overnight and reheat.

I thought the title said 'tiny portions of mice'!

cook and then freeze in ice cube trays (buy a big pack of cheap ones from a pound shop).
the ice cubes are so teeny they defrost in no time and you will only need a couple for each meal.

Thanks.

Also, when I've defrosted and reheated it for a meal, is it OK to take that out to eat when cooler, say with pasta for lunch a few hours later.

I really have a mental block on this kind of thing.....
