fried it, then put it back in fridge to use tomorrow, that's okay isn't it?

I wouldn't have, but if it smelt ok and looked ok then it'll prob be fine. Was it a Best Before or Use By date? Most meat etc has a Use By date

emkana · 27/04/2010 22:28

Oh yes was use by. I did smell it and it smelt (and looked) fine.

I probably wouldn't have done, but that's because my experience of supermarket mince is that it can look decidedly dodgy even on the Use By date or before. But then, I'd buy mince from the butcher and use my common sense as to when to use it. I'm sure if it looks and smells fine then it will be quite OK - make sure you cook it a bit longer than usual just in case.

It's in the fridge now, so should I chuck it? Not sure now.

I'd use it, so long as it looked/smelt ok before cooking you should be fine.

I did this on Sunday with some mince that was 2 days past the use by date. It didn't smell bad so I thought it would be ok.
We ate it on Monday night and we are all still here
