Is 40 oz of milk excessive at 11 weeks....how much does your 11 week old have?

I was wondering (again!) if my ds is particular unusal with the quantity of milk he gets through. We have just hit the 40 oz mark which seems a lot? This is all consumed between 7 am - 11 pm, he dropped the night feed just over 2 weeks ago. Ds is very contented (well I suppose he would be really on that amount of milk!) but I really don't want to wean him too early, hopefully he can go until 4 months.
Anyone got any advice or comments about this?

have you tried him on hungry baby milk? My ds used to have a full bottle (9oz) every 2 hours until we changed him to hungry baby milk. Mind you even then he was a little guzzler.

At least you are getting some sleep now

Melly ... My DS was drinking about that at 11 weeks ... and he had reduced his in take from 48 fl oz a day!
40 fl oz is 5 full bottles a day isn't it? That sounds about right to me.
My DS was ENORMOUS as a baby (I recently saw a photo of him at 8 months at my FIL's house that I didn't have and I couldn't believe how fat he was ... just rolls and rolls and rolls of blubber .... ... at the time I always worried about whether he was eating enough!!) ... but now he is an averagely sized 3 and a half year old ... a bit on the stocky side but definitely not fat!!
Your DS will eat what he needs to eat!
My DS' milk intake only reduced once he had been on solids for a while ...
Don't worry about it ... if he is happy like you say then go with Flo!!

Thanks Fio2 and Ghosty for your speedy replies, that's made me feel better already. He is on Omneo Comfort milk which seems to suit him & I don't really want to change unless I have to.
Thanks for the advice.
