Covent Garden tomato soup in fact, which went off on Monday. Will it still be ok to eat? I'm assuming so, since the ingredients are just tomato, water, onion etc. Just thought I'd check.

It didn't go off on Monday, the 'best before' date was Monday. That means the manufacturers think it'd be tastier on Monday or before. But it's almost certainly still edible now, on Wednesday.

Smell it. If it smells ok, taste it. If it tastes ok, eat it.

Is it still unopened? If so, I would use it.

I am ultra cautious and I'm afraid I'm going to say NO! Just because those soups have a really long sell-by anyway (at least 3 weeks or so) so you will be eating soup that was manufactured a v v v long time ago and I for one would not fancy it.

But, then again, I don't think it would kill you .

Thanks for the responses. It was unopened, I've now opened it and it smells fine so I'll go for it.
