Is it normal for my DD of 15 months to go from eating all the "normal" things we eat as a family to literally nothing in a week ??

DD is my no 2. She's gone from eating our "usual" family meals (casseroles/bolognese) and tea things like sandwiches etc to eating a limited range of stuff ie bread, ham, babybel cheese, bananas, weetabix and yoghurt. Everything else is spat out or chucked over the side of the tray table or she'll just take one look and shake her head.

She weaned easily and has tackled lumps quite well. She likes to help feed herself and she'll let you load the spoon and then will take it off you to feed herself. She feeds herself finger food stuff well so we do a mixture.

She has been ill on or off and I suspect is teething as she's been pretty cling on like recently.

What's happened ? Will she come back ? What do I do? It really seems to have come overnight.

PS whilst we're at it - any good savoury muffin recipes? thought I might try some of those tomorrow.

yeah, it's fairly normal, just keep offering healthy alternatives as well as the healthy stuff she will eat now. Don't fall into the trap of offering her anything just to see her eat as much as you think she will eat -- she will eat as much as she needs.

I know how exasperating it can be. I am delighted because DS2yo recently started eating cornflakes... my youngest of 4 turns out to be the fussiest (by a big margin)!

Bread, ham, cheese, bananas, weetabix and yoghurt...sounds like the EXACT same diet as my 19 month old!!! You're deffo not alone!

I just keep trying other stuff and now and again she will have a little bit, if she's hungry!

I personally found that things she can eat with her fingers she is more likely to go for - sweetcorn, rice, omelette with cheese cut into strips. And I newly discovered making pancakes but grating some carrot into the mixture and putting cheese on top!
