Spag bol, soup with bread, chilli without kidney beans, lasagne, cottage pie, pasta dish, there are loads of things you could do.

1.Shepherd's pie- if I am having guests, I cook two big ones the night before and serve with bread and salad.

1. Beef stew- my friend's grandmother cooked this and it was divine- chunks of stewing steak, carrots, onions and potatoes in Oxo. Treat like soup. Very filling.

1. Veggie curry and rice as suggested above.

1. Hot dogs.

1. Home made Lentil and Bacon soup- serve with grated cheese and bread.
