Is creme fraiche much healthier than cream or isn't there much in it?

I'm making a fish pie for tomorrow. Recipe has 300ml double cream. If I want to make it healthier would creme fraiche be a good substitute?

I assumed it was healthier, but I'm not so sure. If there's not much in it, I might as well stick with the cream. Can anyone advise please?

No difference, but you could substitute single cream.

I think a healthy substitute could be yoghurt (plain of course) but it really won't taste as nice. Can you even cook yoghurt....it might curdle or something?!

Single cream is as low as I would go!

You can buy half fat creme fraiche and you can use it for cooking

Hmm..Thanks all; I thought so.

I know! I could make a cheesy white sauce with skimmed milk instead. Aargh I'm trying to lose weight!
