Ideas needed to fill up 6yo who isn't keen on carbs

ds will constantly eat from the minute he gets in from school till he goes to bed.

He eats an equal amount of crappy biscuits and healthy fruit and veg.

He doesn't like to eat too big a portion of the same thing on his plate for dinner and hates any kind of potato apart from chips.

He'll eat meat and veg and sometimes pasta - but not too much - no rice, cous cous or potatoes.

I'm thinking he needs more carbs to fill his tummy??

toast? cereal?

Protein is a good filler. Maybe add an egg to a meal? Try sweet potato, vegetable mash (carrot and swede) roasted butternut squash.

My ds is similar. A really carnivore. I give him a tiny scoop of mash if everyone else is having it. He'll eat fishcakes made with mash, so maybe try incorporating the carbs instead of serving as a side?

Thanks girls - I'll try more mashed carrot (with potatoes or sweet potatoes hidden) - I usually do just chopped, steamed carrots and he eats them ok.

The only time he'll eat mashed potato is with haggis and mashed turnips. And I don't think haggis is particularly good - sat. fat and salt wise - otherwise he'd eat it every day!
