I use my SC a lot but have never done a chicken in it

I bought a ready-for-the-oven ready-stuffed chicken the other day, it's not massive

we are planning on being out all afternoon - how would i cook it in the sc? do i need to brown it first, add stock etc?

any hints to make it yummy? If I put it in at about 10am on low it'd be ready by around 5/6-ish, right?

TIA

Hello, I do whole chickens quite a lot in my SC. I don't bother browning it but I do shove a bit of butter under the skin over the breast and sit it breast side up - usually find it browns a bit but doesn't dry out.

I shove half a lemon inside it, and then pour about in inch deep of BOILING water over the whole thing before switching on.

I also use the 'auto' setting, just to give it a blast on a higher temp to kill any chicken related bugs first, before it switches down to low heat.

I would say your timings are prob about right.
