Anyone got a tried and tested hot cross bun recipe?

Fancy making some hot cross buns for a birthday party we're having over Easter weekend.

Does anyone have a favourite recipe they use year after year?

This is my tried & tested recipe, it owes a lot to Dan Stevens' recipe in The River cottage bread handbook.

Dough

250g white bread flour
250g plain flour
125ml warm water
125ml warm milk
5g powdered yeast
10g salt
50g sugar
1 egg
50g butter
150g sultanas
zest of 1 orange
1 1/2 tsp mixed spice

Crosses
50g plain flour
100ml water

Glaze (after baking)
1 tablespoon jam
1 tablespoon boiling water

I make my dough in the bread maker, if you don't have one combine dry ingredients & then mix in wet ingredients, it makes quite a sticky dough. It needs to be kneaded like any bread recipe.
Leave to rise for about an hour then divide into 8 pieces & shape into rounds. Leave to prove again for about 30 mins.

Heat oven to 200 deg C.

To make crosses whisk together water & flour. Place in a piping bag (or I use a plastic sandwich with a tiny part of the corner cut off) Pipe a cross on top of each bun. Place in oven for 15-20 mins. Until golden brown

When they are nearly cooked combine the jam with the water & sieve.
Take hot cross buns out of oven & immediately brush with jam mixture, then place on cooling rack.
