These modern houses no longer provide the good old larder with vents. I have tried the fridge but the space they take up and some veg go soggy very quick. In the very old weather I stored the porch which worked fab but now warming up I have them in the utility room but the spuds are sprouting and veg going yellow very quick.....

Anyone use a cool box? Keeping dark does that help?

I hate wasting food!!!!

ps I dont have a garage.

Ideas tried and tested please.

It was a revelation when somebody told me to top and tail carrots and keep them in a sealed container in the fridge. They stay crunchy for weeks. HTH!
