DD 13 months has a bit of a tummy bug and hasn't really eaten much for the last few days. I am trying to come up with food to tempt her without upsetting her tum again.

When we were small my mum always gave us Heinz tomato soup!

In our house it is eggy bread or bananas in custard. With the upset tummy I would go for eggy bread.

Yes soup here too.

Ds loves chicken soup and if he's ill I have to feed it to him (he's 8!)

In my house it's cheese and tattie pie, really tasty but not too heavy and fabtastic on a cold day

cheese pie again in our house.

Basically a layer of mashed potato (with a bit of cheese mixed into the mash if you're so inclined), layer of grated cheese, another layer of mashed potato, top with mixture of breadcrumbs & grated cheese and bake in the oven until golden on top and sizzling (a bit like a meat-free shepherd's pie).

In fact, it's DD's comfort food du choix even if she's not ill.

oh yum misshardbroom

If they're still vomming I usually stick to good old BRATY (banana, rice, apple, toast, yogurt, in various combinations) for a day and then gradually get back to normal.

Mine both under the weather atm, and I'm finding that greek yogurt with sliced bananas and honey is going down well.

Agree with soup - their fave is home-made lentil, tomato and carrot. We used to have Heinz tomato too when we were little.

Sorry Mcdreamy didn't see this until now

Cheese and tattie pie is so easy

Boil tatties as normal then mash with butter and milk but make them wetter than you would normally

Then beat in an egg, add loads of cheese (you can also add onions/ spring onions etc)

bake in oven for 20/30 mins at about gas mark 5 or until top is golden ... lush

eggy bread with organic ketcup. Have fed this to poorly dd today (2 this week!) and even got a smile out of her by using pastry cutters to make star shapes. Sounds fussy but takes about a minute and is often the difference between her scoffing the lot (large egg and 2 slices of bread) and eating nothing if feeling fussy. The chickens get the bread offcuts. I usually put some grated parmesan in the egg to up the taste and the calcium content.
