i don't think it would really matter what kind of cake recipe you used - I use scratch recipes and cake mixes in cake pans and they all come out fine (including wilton tins)

MuppetsMuggle · 05/03/2010 11:37

going to sound dim now lol!
Whats a scratch recipe? Also would it just be the case of making a mix of what i would normally use for cupcakes and just do until full iykwim?

New to this cake making & decorating business

i assume it doesn't have mixture size on the lable at all?

how about filling the pan with water, then measuring it against a standard cake tin?

MrsBadger · 05/03/2010 12:18

I can;t see the ebay link - is it this one?

a 'scratch recipe' is on emade form basic ingrendients (ie from scratch) not from a packet mix

I think a 6-egg sponge should do it

MuppetsMuggle · 05/03/2010 12:19

doesn't come with mixture size no
All I know it is a size 13.5" tin.

Just knowing the eggs, flour & sugar amount, as want to get it right

MrsBadger - yeah thats the one.

We never use packet mixes always do it ourselves.

Just knowing how many eggs, grams of flour & sugar etc, as i'm a complete novice.

300g butter
300g sugar
6 medium eggs
300g SR

if there's too much use the rest for cupcakes

Thank you really appreciate that
