Slow cooker beef tastes/smells like the flour I browned it in!!

i put a teaspoon of mustard in mine sometimes to give it a bit of oomph. or you could try gravy granules or more herbs? or tomato puree - basically something strongish to disguise taste

or make it into a curry - no-one will know you intended any different - add chutney, curry powder etc

Thanks alot...just thought more of a casserole with mash type thing?do you think the flour will eventually cook out if its on for another 5 hours?

don't know as i don't bother browning stuff for the slow cooker - i'm too lazy. i would taste a hour before the end and see - you could always add stuff then if an issue

flour I think always needs to cook out - ie it should be fine after a thorough cooking
