Simple response would be smell it....but I am ill and have lost my sense of smell!

I got it out of the freezer to defrost at midday Friday, left it on the window sill, but it was still half frozen at tea time so put it in the fridge for the following night, it's been in the fridge since. Do you think it will be ok for a shepards pie tonight? It looks ok...

let's face it you're going to be browning it then making a sauce with it before cooking it for 40 mins or however long you usually do it for
