What can I serve with fillet of beef that has been cooked in a smoker (BBQ'd)?

Friends are coming over for dinner. I was thinking posh salads but it's not really the weather for it is it .

What do you think?

The beef will taste as if it has been roasted but with a smoky taste to it.

oooh thanks sprogger - those both sound a bit 'diff', which is great. Would you personally prefer the poor man pots or the dauphinoise do you think? I had thought of the latter but wondered if it was a bit too rich to go with the beef?

Sprogger - you are so 'on' the case with my cooking design!!!

Yes we will need something moist to go with it, you are right.

Mind you - I personally would be very happy with and entire fillet of beef and nothing else .

It will need to be something very quick or can be done in advance though.

Do you have any immediate thoughts for a starter and pud by any chance ??
