I'm in a rut of making the NYT no-knead method with a mix of wholemeal and white 2 or 3 times a week, and thats all.

Any new inspirations?

Could someone please share some sourdough recipes for the breadmaker..
Many thanks!

I'd love to try sourdough - how easy is it?

meltedmarsbars · 14/02/2010 10:09

Oh dear, have all the sourdough-ers died out or gone off?

You need a starter to make sourdough - I don't have a breadmaker (just me ) so I don't know how you would use sourdough in one.

A sourdough starter is just a wild yeast (as opposed to a cultivated yeast) living in a flour/water paste.

OYBK, it is very easy!

I think I might start a starter tomorrow as its half term and I can practise timings.

How is it going? Foul or fermenting nicely?

How does one make a starter?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/02/2010 22:38

not got round to it yet! (not sure why, not exactly time consuming)
